Efti’s Project

Efti’s Project is an ambient jazz experiment led by London-based saxophonist Faye Thompson, who performs and shares in her meditative musical practice.

Faye’s approach to the saxophone is centred around improvisation, using effects pedals and extended techniques to shape and manipulate sound in real-time. They are drawn to textures that emulate electronic synthesizers and ambient music, as well as the sustained resonance of folk drone instruments. Faye enjoys taking inspiration from the sounds of her surroundings, be those nearby conversations, the clicks from her instrument’s keys, and even pedal glitches or unintended sonic artifacts.
